Veterinary Health Care
This program fully prepares the successful student to provide a large number of clinical and administrative services in a range of animal care facilities.
In this health care field, the animal is the patient and the animal’s owner are the client. The multi-faceted work of the veterinary assistant spans the duties of the office assistant while performing vital duties as an unregistered auxiliary within the clinical setting.
Graduates of this program can seek employment in settings such as veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, zoos, and pet products/supply stores. Opportunities also exist in health spas and hotels that advertise themselves as ‘pet friendly,’ businesses.
Program is 10 months and includes a 6 week on the job training practicum. Can be done online, in person or a combination of both.
